Grimsby Mp Austin Mitchell is given a guided tour of the facilities and meets some of the apprentices at work at Catch, Stallingborough.

Mr Mitchell was invited to the plant by Humber Chemical Focus, a public/private partnership with the aim to support and enhance the industry on both banks of the Humber.It was Mr Mitchell's first look at the £8-million facility, owned by North East Lincolnshire Council.

The Centre for the Assessment of Technical Competence Humber includes a full-scale chemical plant, a 1,000 sq m workshop and meeting, seminar and conference amenities, and opened in September last year.

The MP was impressed, not only by what the facility offers, but with the enthusiasm shown by those on apprenticeship schemes at the facility.
