Millennium Inorganic Chemicals, Stallingborough, was short-listed for the 2007 Chemical Industry Award, for a company which has shown best practice in communicating to a range of stakeholders, enhancing the reputation of the company and the industry at large.

The submission for the award was centred around the work of the newly energised Community Awareness Committee, the continuation of the LWT programme and the numerous activities that the company are involved in both locally and nationally, to enhance our relationship with our employees, the community and sharing of Best Practice in industry.

Examples of recent involvement include (to name just a few!):-

• Work of the Community Awareness Committee (See newsletters or contact a member of the committee for more information)
• Continuation of the LWT programme, which is recognised as a best practice for working in partnership with employees and external stakeholders
• Newly developed TREE centre onsite, for Employee education
• Active involvement with ‘Con-Com’ (Humber Bank Contractor competence Forum)
• Routine liaison with the local Community/Councils/industry, through the Stallingborough Community Liaison Panel meetings
• Links with Schools through the Young Enterprise programme

 The Award Ceremony took place on Thursday 5^th July at the National Railway Museum, York. The competition for all Awards was very impressive and demonstrates the commitment to continuous Improvement/Development of the UK Chemical Industry. Although we didn’t win the final Award, being on this short-list was great recognition for the hard work and commitment shown in Building Trust/Reputation for Millennium and the site.  Below is a photograph taken at the event.
