Humber Chemical Focus - making chemistry work for the Humber region
home page Team building and Network Development

In its first 7 years HCF has built up an extensive local, regional, national and European set of networks, contacts and relationships which it sees as an important asset. It has built an extensive database of contacts and organisations and has continued to recruit knowledgeable staff members from both the industry and the public sector.

Within HCF’s membership base there is an extensive range of established networks covering operational, HR, HS&E and community liaison activities. These networks deliver real economic and cost benefits to user organisations by acting as an effective conduit to develop common policies, sponsor common actions and projects and share best practice. HCF forward plan is to continue to act as a centrepoint for the local chemical cluster networks and expand their activities across the supply chain. It further plans to act as a single national network reference point to ensure the region is ‘connected’ to relevant events, activities and agendas that are driving the industry within the UK.

Specific plans are geared around broadening the membership base as well as widening the network agenda to embrace emerging critical cluster issues. This is implemented via the following quarterly network groups:

  • HR Managers
  • Engineering Managers
  • Environmental Managers
  • Major Hazards Group
  • Humber ChemSkills Group
  • Community Liaison Panels
  • Media Communications Group
  • Human Factors Group
  • ChemSkills

As well as regular HCF board membership meetings and events.
